So, if you import men’s/boy’s shoes you pay a lower tariff than if you’re importing women’s/girl’s shoes. Seems a bit discriminatory to me.

Jeffrey Rowland (Overcompensating)
I’ve reblogged this at least once already, but I’m so tired of seeing people who defend and rationalize rape humor under the shield that these jokes are entirely disassociated with sexual assault, because rape jokes desensitize people to rape culture in addition to having the potential to trigger reactions among victims.

Ohio heartbeat bill passes the House and moves on to the Republican controlled Senate.
In CLEAR VIOLATION of Roe. V. Wade (which protects the legality of all abortions performed prior to viability, which is agreed to be 24 weeks) Ohio is on the way to banning abortions once a heartbeat is detected. As early as 18 days, and surely by 6 weeks.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
The headline seems somewhat disingenuous, given that this new law most certainly *is* a threat to the THREE abortion providers in the whole state.
But abortion rights supporters, here and nationally, say the rules, which take effect next week, are onerous, have been rushed into place too rapidly and are actually aimed at ending abortion services at the only three places in the state now providing them, perhaps as early as Friday.
“These requirements range from the impossible to the absurd,” said Nancy Northup, president of the Center for Reproductive Rights. “They’re not designed to protect patient safety; they’re designed to shut down abortion providers.”
July 1 is the compliance deadline. Only one (of the three) believes they will meet the new requirements. And they expect to be denied a license anyway.
‘Cuz, you know, fetuses rights rule.STOCKHOLM (AP) — At the “Egalia” preschool, staff avoid using words like “him” or “her” and address the 33 kids as “friends” rather than girls and boys.
From the color and placement of toys to the choice of books, every detail has been carefully planned to make sure the children don’t fall into gender stereotypes.
“Society expects girls to be girlie, nice and pretty and boys to be manly, rough and outgoing,” says Jenny Johnsson, a 31- year-old teacher. “Egalia gives them a fantastic opportunity to be whoever they want to be.”
I don’t understand why this is controversial.
